Game Jams

My first game jam was in 2017 in Glasgow Caledonian University and the theme was "Wave". I always have a good time with game jams and I learned a lot from them so I want to showcase those experiences

Here's a link to my Global Game Jam profile but here are all the games I have worked on in Jams below!

GGJ 2021 -Lost and Found - SMASD

In January 2021, I was able to create a global game jam game with 2 other design students, a programming student, a audio design student  and an art student. We were able to create a small prototype but we are all happy with our outcome.

This year "Lost and Found" was the theme so we decided to made a fun small prototype about losing your Mum in a supermarket. We took influence from games like "Doom" as we wanted to poke fun at the childhood terror of turning around and realising that you lost sight of your parent.

This jam was done remotely due COVID-19 and this was a welcomed experience but I am hopeful that my next jam will be in person as I personally prefer collaborating in person during a jam.

GGJ 2020 - Repair - Rolg

In January  2020,  I was able to create a global game jam game with 2 other design students, a programming student, and an art student.
We were able to create a small prototype but we are all happy with our outcome.

Since the theme was "Repair" we wanted to showcase repairing oneself but not in an "in your face" kind of way we wanted to create a very relaxed experience and chilled ambiance throughout the game, I personally believe we achieved this,
In this project, I was tasked with Rolg's audio and a few 3D art assets.

Overall I learned a lot about scoping accordingly, working in a tight team and working to an intense deadline, and being able to produce content I am proud of.

Listening Post - 2018 - Transmission

In 2018, I was able to participate in a Global Game Jam Project with another designer, a programmer, and an audio engineer.
We were able to experiment with a mixed median co-operative game. One player would be on a computer and another player deciphering through the paper documents.

Since the theme was "Transmission" we wanted to showcase transmitting coded messaged so we wanted to make a co-operative puzzle game for this I was the lead artist and narrative designer so I was responsible for the art assets and the linear plot we had implemented.

Overall, through this experience, I learned how to deal with in a team with a tight deadline, communicating with teammates to see what needed to be done, implementation of art assets in the engine, and producing an experimental and fun game.
